10 / 19 (event) SVDP Young Adult Chapter Meeting Start: 6:30 pm End: 8:00 pm The Society of St. Vincent De Paul (SVDP) young adult chapter provides utility, rent, and furniture assistance to the local needy. Monthly meetings are used for spiritual reflection, policy discussion, and casework review, typically followed by socializing at McGurk's. SVDP provides a great opportunity for direct work with the needy, but on a flexible schedule. more info (event) Youth Adoring Christ (YAC) Night Start: 7:00 pm End: 8:00 pm YAC Nights consist of young people playing great music, people joining in song and prayer and quiet meditation. A time of praising God! It is held in the Shrine Church in the Miraculous Medal Shrine area in Perryville, MO. It's a beautiful and special area we have reserved every third Thursday of the month. Come join us as we visit three communities of cloistered nuns in the St. Louis area: the Passionists, the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters (Pink Sisters), and the Poor Clares in Belleville, IL. There will be an opportunity to pray with the nuns and visit with the nuns. Other topics will include the Biblical nad Patristic foundation of the Eucharist, and Eucharistic art of the world. Mass will begin at 8am doors open at 8:30. Light breakfast will be available. 10 / 22 (event) Archdiocesan Respect Life Convention Start: 11:30 am End: 6:00 pm The Annual Archdiocesan Respect Life Convention will take place on Sunday, October 22. The keynote speakers are the two members of the God Squad: Monsignor Thomas Hartman and Rabbi Marc Gellman. They have a unique blend of humor and truth promises to entertain and inspire! This year, there will be a special workshop track just for youth. Vicki Thorn, founder of Project Rachel, will give a talk on the biology of Theology of the Body, otherwise known as "a provocative sex talk." Don't miss it! There will be other fun surprises during the Youth track, which is brought to you by the Office of Youth Ministry and the Respect Life Apostolate. more info

10 / 28 (event) Faith On Fire Music Festival Start: 11:00 am End: 4:30 pm CONTEMPORARY, CATHOLIC, CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL WE PROUDLY PRESENT: MATTHEW BAUTE AND FRIENDS (formerly Dayspring) DISCIPULUS and MR. CHIP AWALT, charismatic speaker Gates will open at 11 a.m. Event will begin at 11:45 a.m. with a welcome and blessing by Fr. Wesloh or Fr. Molitor of Our Lady Queen of Peace. Event will end at 4:30 p.m. AT WHICH TIME WE INVITE ALL IN ATTENDANCE TO JOIN US FOR MASS AT 5 P.M. AND TO SHARE IN THE EUCHARIST. Calling on all parishes and all youth groups. Come with a banner or sign representing your parish name and the words that "fire your faith." A monetary prize and ribbon will be given to the parish/youth group for the best sign/banner AND a similar prize will be given to the parish with the most overall attendance! Judging of the banners will be done independently by Matthew Baute and Friends. Youth Groups - ask your family, friends and other, perhaps older folks in your parish to attend. Let them witness how YOU worship Christ. Young married couples with or without children come out and listen to a different type of worship music.
