Internet Dangers

One of the attractions of the Internet is personal safety derived from relative anonymity.  Unfortunately, this same anonymity can be similarly dangerous in the hands of a predator. A teen doesn't always know with whom he or she is interacting. Teens may think they know, but unless it's a school friend, a relative or someone they've met in person, they really can't be sure. Often parents think of pedophiles as having access to children out on the playground and other public places, but without being smart about internet usage, teens can actually be interacting on their home computers with adults who pretend to be other teens. Here are five ways [1] to protect your children from internet strangers.

Also, for a funny yet startling real skit on the dangers of anonymous users on the internet, check out this SNL skit [2] .
