Duties Include

YOUTH MINISTER—Full--Time St. Joseph Parish is seeking a Youth Minister. This person will be responsible for coordinating the Parish’s pastoral ministry to high school age youth, providing spiritual leadership and mentoring, Catholic teaching, and facilitating opportunities for youth to serve others. Qualifications: • Active member of a Roman Catholic faith community • Demonstrates excellent listening skills • Must be able to facilitate a safe and open environment for high school age youth to share questions and concerns while maintaining clear boundaries • Must have the ability to recognize issues that require additional resources or services • Experience in group process and facilitation • Demonstrates possession of organizational skills • Experience in designing and implementing youth programs • Demonstrates knowledge of adolescent personal and spiritual development and youth culture • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing • Able to listen to, understand, and explain complex spiritual/theological concepts in an appropriate manner for high school age youth

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred in Theology, Religious Education, Education or a related field, e.g. Liberal Arts, Psychology, etc.) Current and on going training in Catholic Theology, Liturgy, Spirituality, and Social Teaching
