Listed below are organizations around St. Louis for young adult ministry. If you would like to be listed here, please contact us [0].
Upper Room Ministries [1]
Otherwise known as the All Saints Young Adult Group. Our group formed in the Spring of '98 at the upper room of the Newman House at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. "Holy Spirit come and fill us," we begged. And O has He come. God has blessed us with a whole variety of gifts, but we have an obvious gifting of prophecy and discernment of a person's gifts. We start with worship and praise, then work into prayer, allowing for his movement. Sometimes we dig into the Word, sometimes more worship, sometimes more prayer, and sometimes fellowship. Our group has grown quite a bit recently and we would love to have you stop by for a visit.
We are at All Saints in U City [2], 2 blocks north of Blueberry Hill on Westgate. We meet on the third floor of the school, next door to the church. Please contact Andy Roscoe for more info at (314) 524-6912 or andy@stlupperroom.org [3].
Theology of the Body Study Group [3]
Please join us in our study of the teachings of Pope John Paul II in his Theology of the Body, a ground-breaking reflection on the meaning of human sexuality, human love, and what it means to be human. We will meet on the 4th Sunday of each month, starting at 6:00 pm, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (4431 Lindell Blvd., 63108 [4]). We meet in Boland Hall, just behind the Cathedral. Feel free to drop by and stay for as little or as long as you like. If you have any questions about this Study Group or about John Paul II's teachings, or if you would simply like us to keep you updated about the development of the Study Group, please send an e-mail to Andrew Schloss at andrew.schloss@gmail.com [5], or call him at (314)814-0996. We are also trying to network with other individuals who would like to help spread the Theology of the Body into their own parishes or beyond (email the above address). God bless you!
Catholic Single Adults Club [6]
The CSAC is an organization dedicated to creating and maintaining an environment for its members that is conducive to the development of productive social, cultural, civic and spiritual relationships in a Catholic setting.
St. Louis Cathedral Basilica Young Adult Group [7]
The New Cathedral Young Adult Group (20's to 30's) always welcomes new members. The group is a mix of singles, and married couples, native St. Louisians and "transplants." Non-Catholic friends are welcome at all activities.
The Society of St. Vincent De Paul
is an international, Catholic lay organization for providing material assistance to the needy, primarily through home visitation. The young adult chapter of the Society in St. Louis provides those services in the Soulard and LaSalle Park areas. SVDP is a great opportunity to combine spiritual reflection, person-to-person service, and fellowship, but on a flexible schedule. To find out more, please contact Bryan Kirchoff at 314.367.0004 or BryanKirchoff@aol.com [8].
