Expectations
Thank you for your "yes" to work for Christ. We are all called in many different ways to serve Christ and Project Life is just one of many excellent ways to live out our baptism. Therefore, in order to make this week of service an awesome experience for everyone involved there are some expectations that we as coordinators have for you. Remember, in order for this week to truly have an impact upon your life, we are asking that you sacrifice many of the luxuries that we have in our lives in order to better recognize Christ in those we serve who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
- Stereo equipment will be provided by the staff, so please sacrifice your personal stereo for the week, including walkmans, iPods, TVs, etc.
- Each day has been carefully planned with many different activities and getting started on time is important. Therefore, we will not have the time to primp or oversleep, so plan to sacrifice your outer beauty to show your inner beauty.
- Time for recreation, eating, serving, sharing and sleeping has been planned for everyone, so work with that plan for the week. For example, complying with all curfew rules and staying in your own sleeping area.
- This week is a great way to get away and serve Christ for an entire week. Therefore, plan to be at Project Life for the entire week because you will not be given a chance to go home. If an emergency arises or if you need to go home, you will need to get approval from your youth minister and directors before hand.
- This week you will be asked to participate in every activity. So come with an open mind and an energetic heart because Christ is counting on you.
- Teens from all over the Archdiocese will be working together so a cooperative and loving attitude is needed to respect everyone on a personal basis.
- Also, a respect for the facilities we will use and the sites that we travel to is imperative. Respect is a large part of the week.
- Project Life participants are expected to dress in a fashion that represents modesty and good taste. Clothing must cover all undergarments and midriffs. halter tops, low cut tops, tube tops, spaghetti strapped tops, mini skirts, short shorts, or other inappropriate attire are not to be worn at any time during the week. Clothing with vulgar or offensive language or obscene pictures will not be tolerated.
- To ensure everyone's safety there will be no leaving your group for any reasons.
- No fireworks, drugs, alcohol, or profanity is needed to serve Christ so please do not bring any.
- In order to carry out the work of Christ we must always present ourselves as Christians wherever we go throughout the week.
- Project Life is not a time to stay in your own secure world; therefore we ask that you take advantage of meeting new people. We can guarantee as directors that we will put you in groups to help you get to know each other.
- If a problem arises it should be brought to the attention of the directors so that it can be taken care of as soon as possible.
