Information

Who can come to the conference?

Groups are defined as one adult leader with one or more youth participants. No single registrations will be accepted. We have established the following three categories of participants attending the conference:

Group Leader

The one person organizing the trip and serving as a contact person to the Registration Office. The Group Leader must be an adult, age 21 or older, who is actually attending the conference with the group. Written and oral correspondence takes place between the Group Leader and the registration staff.

Adult Chaperone

Someone attending the conference to chaperone the youth. Chaperones must be 21 years of age or older by the conference. This is a change from previous years so please take note.

All chaperones must be of solid character, and in compliance with your home Diocesan Child Protection Policies. It is the responsibility of the group leader to ensure that all chaperones are in compliance. (see Adult Chaperone Policies)

They must be able to carry out the role of supervising and attending to the youth. Because of the nature of the conferences, Chaperones must be of good health and must be able to handle loud music and active youth. The Group Leader can be an Adult Chaperone. For the safety of the youth and for the good of all involved in the conference, there must be at least one but no more than three adults per ten youth. For example, if a group brings 9 youth, five female and four male, that group would need to have two Adult Chaperones, one male and one female. A group may be as small as one Youth and one same-sex chaperone, e.g., a mother and a daughter, father and son. Please take into account these ratios when determining the number of spaces you wish to reserve. A group must have at least one youth attending.

Young Adult Core Group

Young adults who work with your group as young adult core members. These are people who cannot be counted as chaperones due to their age - 18 to 20.

Youth

Participants in the conference. These include incoming freshmen (entering 9th grade) through graduating seniors (Class of 2006).
