Project Life 2006 Wrap Up

This summer our feet washers ventured to St. James the Greater for a week of fun and service. The theme of the week was taken from Pope Benedict’s first letter “Deus Caritas Est” in which he said “Christ took the lowest place in the world, the cross, and by this Radical Humility He redeemed us and constantly comes to our aid.” We too are called to be radically humble as we strive to serve God and his people.

As Christ humbly washed the feet of his disciples we must do our best to wash the feet of our brothers and sisters. To all of you feet washers out there (whether you were on Project Life or not) let us continue to show Christ’s love to all that we meet through humble service.

We're Sold Out

We’re happy to announce that Project Life for this summer is sold out. This June 101 teens will be doing a week of service work in the North St. Louis area. The week will be a great opportunity for teens to find Christ in themselves and in the people they serve.

The success of Project Life relies greatly on the generosity of people like you. When you have 101 hardworking teenagers the cost of supplies and food can really add up. If you are interested in donating please contact Liz Buncher at 314-633-2503 or by e-mail at lizbuncher@archstl.org.

A Reflection

Project Life… hmm… this year’s weeklong service project came with a quote… a strange quote. Well, anyway, here it is:

In Weakness, Power Reaches Perfection!

Huh? Don’t look up—someone will ask you what it means! And then they kept talking about it—all week long! Too bad it wasn’t one of those one-time talks that we could forget about!

How can we be weak and have power that is perfect when we just said that we were weak? O.K., O. K.—we’re gonna talk about this all week? I guess I’ll figure it out ‘cause I don’t get it.

Whose weakness—mine, yours, theirs?

Less Than a Week Away!

“…in weakness, power reaches perfection” (2 Cor 12:9).

Hello fellow Feet Washers! Project Life is less than a week away. Are you ready to experience the power of Christ? Are you read to give yourself in service to His people? Then you are ready for this year’s Project Life!

Teens: Check out the Project Life Forum, where you can share memories and thoughts about the week of service. Also, stay tuned to see pictures from the week.

Prayer Request: Please keep the 120 participants in your prayers!

In Need of Donations

Project Life is only a couple weeks away, and we’re in need of some varied supplies. If you can donate anything in the following list, please contact Sr. Consolata or Joel Stein at 314.633.2500. Thanks for your generosity!
